“Big Brother” Returns for Its 25th Anniversary with a Mysterious New Season

This summer, Big Brother is back to celebrate its 25th anniversary with a season full of secrets, surprises, and unexpected twists. Season 27, officially titled Big Brother: A Summer of Mystery, promises an enigmatic new format that will keep fans guessing.
A Season Shrouded in Mystery
CBS confirmed on July 2 that the upcoming season will feature a masked visitor, a secret accomplice, and the shocking arrival of a Mystery Houseguest—whose identity will remain hidden, at least for now. Host Julie Chen Moonves teased that this unknown player will be a “polarizing” figure but didn’t reveal whether they’re a former contestant or a completely new face.
Inside the Haunting Hotel Mystère
This year, the iconic Big Brother house has been transformed into the Hotel Mystère, a luxurious yet eerie setting filled with hidden passageways, a wineless wine cellar, a vintage aesthetic, and even a “poison bar.” Chen hinted that nothing in the house is just for decoration—everything serves a purpose, reinforcing the season’s motto: expect the unexpected.
Adding to the intrigue, bunk beds are making a comeback for the first time since Season 1, redesigned to resemble first-class cabins on the Orient Express.

The new season kicks off with a 90-minute premiere on Thursday, July 10, at 8 p.m. ET/PT on CBS, followed by another extended episode on Sunday, July 13, at 8 p.m. ET/PT.
