Volvo is recalling more than 400,000 vehicles due to rearview camera malfunctions that could impact driver visibility.
According to a notice first reported to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) on May 1, the recall covers 413,151 cars with model years 2021 through 2025. According to Volvo, all of the recalled cars are believed to suffer from the software defect.
The rearview camera display may go black when affected cars are put in reverse, impacting rear visibility. Volvo did not report any known accidents or injuries related to the issue.

What to do if you have a recalled car
Anyone who owns the models mentioned in the recall can take their vehicles to a Volvo dealer for a software update free of charge. The update can also be done via an over-the-air (OTA) update, or a remote, digital download.
Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed on June 24, 2025. Owners can also contact Volvo Car customer service at 1-800-458-1552 with recall number R10320.
